Expedition: Day 50. Version 0.1.8RC1 Released!

The last step always takes the most, phew…. After a dev-days of heavy work ( polishing ) a version is ready for the volunteer playtesters!

Expedition: Days 41 and 42

Done:

Make temperature affect food consumption
Make mountains affect temperature
Simulate Intertropical Convergence Zone with calm winds
Increase storm chance on the doldrums
Esc should exit menus/shops as Space already does

Expedition: Day 40

Temperature calculation is implemented and works in combo with the weather changes, still gotta make it affect gameplay a bit more (food consumption, sudden deaths by freezing or exploding because of heat? what else could possibly happen?)
I also noticed the current map is pretty lacking, must think on doing a complete world map, but finding [...]

Expedition: Days 38 and 39

Weather works now. I spent day 38 designing how to handle it and day 39 coding.
It works based on this table:

Now you can chop woods (Even the simpler thing takes so long…)

Add temperature and weather calculation (impacts storm generation)

Expedition: Day 36

You can now assault native towns and steal their goods after killing all of their local population.
The combat system is pretty … bad … currently, I will have to work it out a bit in order to balance it and make it fun.

Lots of work putting to work the native settlements with their cultures and what-not. Now they try to deploy troops if the player is near and if they are hostile, and each culture has different units and size, etc.
